Golden + Co.
The Challenge: Golden + Co. Candles hand-pours their homemade candles in Laveen, AZ. The owner did not have time to write descriptions of her candles before two seasonal holiday events and a planned online sale. The candles were also poured thousands of miles away from me, so I was not able to personally smell them first.
The Solution: Through reading the ingredients and discussing the owner’s candle collection themes, I envisioned what the customers might think of as they smelled her candles.
By telling a story related to each season or holiday as well as describing the scents within the candle, I painted a vivid image so customers would know what to expect when they ordered each scent.

Oak Barrel Ice & Creamery
The Challenge: Due to COVID-19 protocols, customers were no longer able to sample flavors at this small batch ice cream shop. The shop also launched a new online ordering system where customers would need to select their flavors without being able to talk to an ice cream server first.
The Solution: To provide a centralized hub for flavor descriptions, the designer and I created this page. Here, customers can get a digital taste by browsing detailed flavor descriptions at home or in-store.
